DMG Permit No. M-88-112
Monthly and Bi-weekly Sampling -September 1 1, 12, 23, 24, and 25, and
October 1, 2, 3, and 8, 1996
Dear Mr. Dillle:
Enclosed are the analytical reports from Sangre De Cristo Labs (SDC), Accu-Labs, and Core
Laboratories for the monthly and bi-weekly sampling periods collected September 1 1, 12, 23, 24,
and 25, and October 1, 2, 3, and 8, 1996 as specified in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. The cross-
reference table between sample identification numbers and sample locations is attached.
The groundwater wells M-15. M4-R, and DW-2, the process points, and surface water stations, RS-2,
RS-3, and RS-5 were sampled and the analyses are enclosed. A duplicate was taken at M4-R and is
included here. Field and rinse blanks were collected as part of the QA/OC and are also included
here. Surface water stations RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry.
Please note the analyses for process points taken on September 12, 1996. These original analyses
are iotolly unreasonable. SDC was asked to reanalyze these samples and the results are included.
The reonalysis was taken offer the appropriate holding times and therefore invalid. A split sample of
the collection pond/underdrain was taken on October 14, 1996 and sent to all three of the above
mentioned labs. Also, a spiked blind sample from Environmental Resource Associates was sent to
the same iliree labs. We have contracted Dave McWhorter of Chemac Environmental Services to
investigate the analytical methods of both Core Labs and SDC. BMRI will keep the Division notified
of the findings.
Also, please lake into consideration while reviewing the SDC data, most analytical results use units
of ppb (ug/I) unless otherwise nosed.
S cerely,
Sally .Kaiser
Environmental Engineer
Enclosures
cc: Anne Baldrige
Dan Robertson
P.O.
