T'he reclaimed parcels are surrounded M' Cinmhel oak (~heercus gunrbelii) shruhland on
a northern exposure at an cle~ation of 6.450 feet..Assessment parameters include topsoil depth.
topsoil nutrient analysis, and a qualitative vegetation analysis.
Reclamation activities on the portal facilities and topsoil storage area in Lone Pine Gulch
commenced with contouring and tupsi+il rr-distribution in April of 2002. I'he reclamation areas
recrc then seeded, fcnilirctl (30.15.5 VPh), and mulched the week of titay I' through 2J. The four topsoil samples
were delivered to Colorado :~nahtical
Latwratorics. Inc. and tested for general
chemistry. organic content, and available
nutrients.
Vegetative cover on the reclaimed areas was
evaluated by estimating the cover per
species anJ total cover within approximately
one syuarc-meter of each topsoil pit.
