Opt. of` t(IfraYtrr Afllou-e~s
Please find enclosed our check in the amount of $50.00 for annual
fees for the year 1985 covered under Permit No. M-77-410.
The Cross Mine had been shut down from July, 1983 until April,
1985. During the months of April, May and June of '85, my
mechanic, Gene Nixon, and I conducted an extensive rehabilitation
of the Cross Mine surface facilities. This included the con-
struction of a new train trestle, general mine yard cleanup and
rehabilitation, extensive equipment maintenance and major re-
arrangement of our shop and storage building.
On July 1, we began a very small underground exploration produc-
tion program. During July and August, we completed exploration
drifting and raising on the Tunnel Level which by ALigust 31
yielded 180 tons of low grade mill rock and 120 tons •of waste
rock. The ore was shipped to the Boulder Mill and the waste rock
was spread over our roadway near the entrance to the mine. (See
photograph.) I continued very limited production of ore from the
mine during September and October, producing 184 ton:; of ore.
which was shipped to the Boulder Mill the last week of October.
The mine was closed down on October 28, pending the results from
the milling of 184 tons. The lower levels of the mine have been
kept flooded since the Spring of 1984. We continue to maintain
our water discharge permit with the Health Department an~9 EPA as
required.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
S~nperely
- ~~ ~ . ~
Thomas S.
