Surface Water
1. There are no water level readings for site 304 on April, May, July, and
September. Please explain.
2. Site 800 has only 11 samples instead of the required 12. Please explain
3. Site 8 is missing one measurement for field parameters. Please explain
Discharge and Pond Sites
1. All requirements ~dere met
S rin s
1. All requirements were met.
Water Quality Analysis
Bedrock Wells
The Statement is made "the data for well 006-83-48C does indicate that the
water quality has been affected by migration of fluids r'rom the cemented zone
of the well into the open area of the well". Please provide the evidence that
led you to this conclusion. The predicted hydrologic impact on the Trout
Creek sandstone aquifer is "no impact"; however, it does not appear the
existing Trout Creek wells are appropriately monitored to determine impact, if
any. If the well is indeed contaminated, a new well needs to be installed.
Please submit a minor revision to install a new Trout Creek well and to change
the monitoring requirements for that welt to semi-annual level and field
parameters as well as semi-annual full suite quality measurements. (the same
requirements as well 001-83-106).
Alluvial Wells
Fish Creek
As mentioned in the Eckman Park AHR review, there is some evidence of overall
better quality higher in the drainage. Well 008-AW-3 appears to be influenced
by the outflow of Tipple Pond E; however, a general downward trend in field
conductivity is noted (Figure 23).
Foidel Creek
The underground mine discharge and Pond D discharge appear to contribute to
the marked change in field conductivity noted in the Foidel Creek alluvial
wells (Figure 22) in July of 1986. It is also apparent that the conductivity
of the mine discharge itself changed significantly at that time. The field
conductivity appears to be relatively stable at its current level and no
undesirable level of heavy metals is noted. Please offer your comments
related to the conductivity changes noted at the Foidel Creek alluvial wells
and for the underground mine discharge.
