s. P~- -~ ~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
~ ~~~ ~~~ ~I ~~
1. The applicant has and will conduct monitoring of ground water
in a manner approved by the Division. The ground water
monitoring plan following approval of this permit revision
(PR-O1) is as follows (4.05.13(1)):
Three alluvial wells are monitored quarterly. These are well
A6 (upgradient on Goodspring Creek), North Good Spring Well
(downgradient on Goodspring Creek) and Gossard Well No. 1
(downgradient at the mouth of Taylor Creek).
Analysis of the following parameters is performed on a
quarterly basis and submitted to the Division in an annual
report:
Phosphate Ammonia pH
Conductivity at 25°C Nitrate Lead
Total Dissolved Solids Calcium Manganese
Total Suspended Solids Bicarbonate Sodium
Mercury Magnesium Sulfate
Arsenic Selenium Zinc
Iron Depth to Water
Well A6 is proposed to replace well A3 (the current
upgradient Goodspring Creek alluvial well) since proposed
mining operations may now impact the Goodspring Creek
alluvial water upstream from well A3. Past water quality
analysis data for well A6 is included in Exhibit 7. No
further modifications to the ground water monitoring plan are
required to identify potential impacts to ground water due to
mining operations.
The applicant has and will continue to conduct monitoring of
surface water in a manner approved by the Division. The
monitoring plan was submitted under Rule 2.05.6(3)(b)(iv) and
includes the following (4.05.13(2)):
Three surface water sampling sites are monitored monthly for
the following parameters:
flow,
temperature,
pH,
and electrical conductivity.
The sampling sites are: 1) Taylor Creek near the mouth of
the creek, 2) lower Goodspring Creek (downstream from the
mine) and 3) upper Goodspring Creek (upstream from the
mine). The upper Goodspring Creek sampling site is being
relocated with approval of Permit Revision No. 1 because
surface drainage from the disturbed area will potentially
reach the creek upstream from the current sampling site. The
current sampling site has also been impacted by beaver
colonization of Goodspring Creek.
-18-
