• With the exception of Sediment Pond 2 and the Dugout Pond all previously existing
man-made temporary pond sites have been removed from drainage control mapping
and activities. This was deternined to be possible since; 1) the sedunentation level
in Sediment Pond 2 has been virtually non-existent after now thirteen years of use,
2) Sediment Pond 2 has not had significant amounts of water stored in it for more
than brief periods (except during the unusual and prolonged periods of excess
precipitation in 1995), and 3) even considering the unusual events of 1995 there has
never been an observed discharge from Sediment Pond 2. Again, the Dugout Pond,
Sediment Pond No.2 and the "East" and "West" Perimeter Ditches will remain as a
permanent site water control features when reclamation is complete.

AI-iR-1998 -89-
