I completely reviewed and recalculated all of the
acreages for the mines and loadout. The enclosed drawing, 2000 Annual Reclamation
Report shows the disturbed areas along with the areas considered permanent and long
term. Tables showing the development of the disturbed areas are also enclosed.
An area is considered long term if it is not reclaimed for an extended period of time. The
refuse pond and sediment pond P-9 are considered long term. It is a disturbance that was
reclaimed with a temporary seed mix and does not fit the final reclamation contours.
An area is designated as permanent if it was considered disturbed but there was no
reclamation requirement. Paved roads and light use roads are included in this category.
A subcategory of permanent is reclaimed and subsequently disturbed and then converted
to permanent. The area necessary to operate the water treatment system and the light use
road at the loadout fall into this category.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~~
J.
