Fountain Pit Annual Report R~~FIC(ED''=0
Additional Sheets
Permit M-82-155 ~E(; ~2~ 199G'~yy6
Anniversary Date: December 31, 1996
Centennial Materials Division,.,,,..,ud~a~sa.Cieology.•~gv
The following information is keyed to the three annual report maps submitted with this
report.
Map 1 (black and white legal size): This map shows the extent of the affected land within the
entire permit boundary. Note that the acreage stated on the annual report form is different from
the acreage that has been reported previously. This resulted from a file review which showed
[here was an error in calculating the acreages after the last amendment. This error was not
present in the files, as they are correct. The error originated in a double addition problem in
the DMG software used when the amendment acreage was added. This was addressed in a
letter to DMG.
Map 2 (color letter size): This map shows the history of various zones on the site, as has been
reported in the past. It also shows the area mined in the last year and the estimated area
expected to be mined in 1997. The complex history of this site is reflected in this map.
Map 3 (color letter size): When James Dillie of DMG performed an inspection in mid
December 1996, just prior to the development of this annual report, he requested an inventory
of the disturbance classes on this site. This is for the purpose of estimating whether the existing
bond, which is tied to disturbance area limitations, is adequate. The three disturbance classes
are shown on the map and the acreage contained in each. Note that the major disturbance is
divided into three separate areas and the minor disturbance into even more areas. The Pit Road
that extends through the minor disturbance area in the northeastern part of the operation is
included as moderate disturbance. The small "island" of moderate disturbance in the
northeastern part of the operation contains a few stockpiles that were left long ago when the
mining was done in that area. These apparently were left at the request of the landowner who
is no longer alive. Centennial is checking with the new owner to determine whether they desire
them to be left. If not, they will be removed and the site revegetated.
Shown on this map is the mining highwall of 1445' length. This is provided because
there is a highwall length limitation in the bonding.
If after review of this information, more detail on various disturbances is needed to
determine the adequacy of the bond, Centennial will provide that information upon request.
Fountain Pit 1996 Annual Report (M-82-155) Dec 31, 1996 Page 1
