January 1998 Km Coal Comyany " 1997Annual Hydrola,Py Report * CO Permit No. G80~006 • 1 <br /> <br />• <br />u <br />2.0 MONITORING AND ANALYSES <br />Water monitoring activities during the 1997 water yeaz (Oct. 1996 [hrough Sept. 1997) were <br />conducted according to the schedule contained in the Kerr Water Monitoring Plan submitted <br />during the 1991 midterm review and permit renewal. Kerr Coal Company has retained an <br />independent sampler (Miller Water Monitor Services) to collect samples and data from the wells <br />in the mine area coal aquifer (79-61) and the mine azea overburden aquifer (79-1 and 79-1). All other <br />field data and sample collection for the 1997 water year was conduced by James Mossman of Kerr <br />Coal Company. Sample analyses were performed by ACZ Laboratories, Inc. of Steamboat <br />Springs, Colorado. <br />This report discusses the ground water and surface water monitoring activities and summarizes the <br />data collected during the 1997 water yeaz in the following sections: <br />• Section 3 -Mine Area Confined Ground Water <br />• Section 4 -Mine Area Alluvial Ground Water <br />• Section 5 - Loadout Area Alluvial Ground Water <br />• Section 6 -Mine Area Surface Water <br />• Section 7 -Loadout Area Surface Water <br />• Section 8 -Well Inspection <br />• Section 9 -Future Monitoring <br />Field data and laboratory data aze included in Exhibits A through I.
