The density of shrubs at 2.6 per acre is exceedingly low.
Hopefully, with the seeding addressed above in Point 3, this low
number will be drastically increased.
5. If any of the species to be planted at Chimney Rock are not within
the currently approved seed mix, Kaiser Steel must submit and
obtain approval of a minor revision application.
6. The Division supports the "conceptual grazing plan"; however, with
all of the seeding to be done this fall, grazing cannot occur for
at least one year as addressed in Rule 4.15.5. Therefore, prior to
initiating any grazing, Kaiser Steel will need to submit a bonafide
grazing plan incorporating the ideas addressed in this "conceptual
grazing plan".
If you have any questions about this letter, please contact me.
PVOC/srs
Enclosure(s)
cc: David Berry
Mike Savage
2934E
Reclamation Specialist
