Samples were collected from the gutters along Washington <br /> Street from Highway 58 to the edge of the residential part <br />• of town (approximately 3rd Avenue). A <br />from along the side of Highway 58 near sample was collected -~ <br />the 44th Avenue cross- <br /> over. These samples were analyzed for natural uranium. The <br /> results are as follows: <br />LAB N0. LOCATION yg of uranium per gram of soil* <br />2182 Hwy 58 at 44th Avenue 3.4 + 3.0 <br />2183 East side of Washington Street from <br /> 2nd Avenue to 6th Avenue 8.7 + 0.8 <br />2184 West side of Washington Street from <br /> 2nd Avenue to 6th Avenue 8.2 + 0.7 <br />2189 5th Avenue and Illinois and 5th Avenue <br /> and Cheyenne Streets 1.5 + 0.3 <br />* - Less than 200 mesh soil fraction <br />The only uranium soil samples the Department has analyzed in the area <br />are the 1971-1973 soil samples from the general vicinity of F:ocky'Flats. <br />The range is 0.4 - 37.4 pg of uranium per gram of soil. <br />The average value for uranium in the Front Range of Colorado is 4.6 ug/g <br />• (Adams and Lowder, 1964) with considerable variations found tetween individual <br />samples and locations. <br /> <br />
