ANNUAL REPORT
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County
Location: Chambers Pit
Permit Number: M-1979-205
Anniversary Date: August 15, 2005
Chambers Pit has been active this report year. Mining, crushing, washing, and
stockpiling of several sand and gravel products continues as it has for several years. Also
the small asphalt plant continues to run as needed during the spring, summer, and fall.
Mining operations continue in the northwest corner of the property. We are getting
closer to being done mining in this pit. Either this year or next year should complete the
mining. I think we will continue to use the property as a processing and stockpiling
location after mining is completed.
Reclamation during this report period included reclaiming a mined out area south of the
office by grading pit walls to a 3:1 slope. A small lake is being established there. The
ducks have found a new home. Our weed management plan continues and is doing a
good job controlling noxious weeds.
Tamarisk exists inside the permit boundary but beyond the disturbed area. We have not
treated this tamarisk. This completes the annual report for this location.
cQ,~ n ~-t .~ C~ .
R w ~ 5, coos
