Watcher
Executive Director
Michael B. Long
Division Director
The recent review and inspection of the OM Aggregates Pit has brought to light some confusion in the
Annual Reports. Mountain Region has been attaching a map to the OM Pit, # M-1990-145, Annual
Report that is actually for the # M-1995-005, OM Aggregates Pit. Since the OM Pit has no active
mining in it, while the Aggregate Pit does it is important that the current disturbances be kept straight in
the files for both Mountain Region's and DMG's sake.
if any work is done at either site during the year, a current conditions map needs to be attached to the
Annual Report for that respective site. Please ensure that the situation is corrected for future reports.
This Office will make copies of the maps Mountain Region has supplied and place them in the proper
files to correct this issue.
Also, please be advised that as part of the DMG monitoring program, the Aggregates Pit financial
warranty is under review. The results of the bond recalculations should be forthcoming soon.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no.
970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G.
