the River's monthly average in all but June and July.
There was no detectable affect of the mining operation on
Cottonwood or Rapid Creeks. An H-flume is installed underground
at the Roadside Mine at location 5. Reading during the year
showed a constant flow rate. A connection between Cottonwood and
the mine should show up at this location. The fact that
Cottonwood Creek was dry most of the summer showed no impact on
location 5 flows. No impact on the Creeks is expected due to
protective pillars.
Grading for drainage on CRDA #1 appears to have had little effect
on water levels in the piezometers. The seeps are believed to be
water placed in the pile with refuse and are expected to continue
to diminish. Similar seeps were seen in the Roadside Refuse pile
and have since dried up.
Part of the mine inflows will continue to be drained to the
abandoned portion of the Roadside Mine. The water will rise to
the old North West Intake Portal where pipes will be installed in
seals to drain at that level. In an application for renewal of
our CDPS permit a request was made to move 002 to the proposed
location shown on the Mine Inflows Map. Water is expected to
discharge from this site permanently.
