cause tension crack development at the surface, particularly where the underlying
bedrock is shallow. However, as mentioned previously, in this steeply sloping
environment we would anticipate the inpact of these tension cracks to be
tem4orarY-
5.0 CON= JSICNS
the proposed mining in the B seam will produce surface subsidence and, in
the process, will trigger the oaurence of any remaining u WWlete subsidence in
the C seam. The maximum subsidence magnitude will be on the order of 5.4 ft.
occuring over the panels in the northwest portion of the mine plan. This
subsidence will not damage any man-made facilities nor permanently alter surface
or subsurface drainage. subsidence will produce tension cracks at the surface
which will gradually heal over time due to the effects of surface creep,
incipient landslide movement, and sediment transport. we would expect no long
term detrimental impacts from the predicted multiseam subsidence at this site.
6.0 CIOSORE
In the event that changes in the nature of the primed mine plan, surface
use, etc. are made, the conclusions and recomerdations contained in this report
shall not be considered valid unless the charges are reviewed and conclusions of
this report are modified or verified in writing. This report has been prepared
for Bear Coal Company for application to the Bear Mine No.3 in accordance with
generally accepted engineering principals. No other warranty expressed or
implied is made.
