ANNUAL REPORT
y-' ~~n
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County ,~~i.^+-' plI ~~~
~fvlr~~~ ~) '~~~~
~n rntF,,,;,,.
Location: Preston Pit Extension Minirr9ar~; v ~=(ian,
~f€{y
File Number: M-1980-022
Anniversary Date: February 2, 2007
Preston Pit continued to be inactive as a gravel pit this report period. The pit serves as the
location of the United Companies Quality Control Lab and a fenced area for storage of
misc. traffic control equipment. (traffic cones, signs, & barricades) The former United
office has been remodeled into a nice residence for a top level United manager. Most of
the lake shoreline has been graded to the proper slope. No seeding has taken place yet.
Weed management is satisfactory at this location. Future plans may include a bit more
wet mining on the northeast portion of the existing lake but it is unlikely for 2007. If
labor and equipment becomes available I might try reseeding some of the shoreline this
year.
Sincerely,
~~~„~ w ~ I~~~J
Brent W. Kerr
Resource Manager
