I regret the oversight on my part
for the error in the seed mixes and apologize for any inconvenience
it may have caused.
During our discussion, you also mentioned a concern with the method
or form that the seeding density was listed in the tables. In the
first part of the appendix the seed density is specified in Pure
Live Seeds per Square Foot. The other two sections of the appendix
list the density in Pounds of Pure Live Seed per Acre. If my
memory serves me correctly, P&M intentionally changed the density
parameter to Pounds per Acre because of a concern on our part that
we were putting an excess amount of seed down which, in our
opinion, was not conducive to encouraging woody stem plant growth
because of excess competition from the grasses. I placed a call to
your office today to discuss this matter, but you were tied up in
meetings. If this appendix is still of concern to you as written,
please give me a call and we can discuss it further.
incerely,
~~-,_~.~
David Beverlin
Resident Engineer
cc: Brian Gontarek-Englewood
