SHELTON, Director
May 12, 1986
Gregg Squire
FROM: Dale Plume
RE: REVIEW OF EAGLE N0. 5 AND 9 1985 AHR AND ASSOCIATED COMMENTS
The report submitted by Empire Energy Corporation is very concise and
detailed. A11 data seems to be well represented and accurate.
Trends indicate that water quality for 1985 has remained generally the same as
during baseline monitoring, with a few exceptions. The Middle Sandstone may
be showing a slight decrease in water quality due to the presence of some
metals, with levels rising or remaining static even though dilution has
occurred from near record precipitation (1983 - 1984). Additionally, several
wells in Big Bottom still retain poor quality water due to salt loading
(including sulfates). The following table shows wells and various surface
water sampling points relative water quality rating. This table weights
various parameters of 0-3 depending on whether the parameter approaches or
exceeds any one of several regulatory standards. The weights are then summed
for each sampling point. Water quality rating numbers have the following
meaning:
0-10 Good Water Quality;
11-15 Fair Water Quality;
16-20 Poor Water Quality; and,
~ 20 Very Poor Water Quality.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
