Assessment of Hydrologic Impacts

Bear Coal Company, Inc., has ceased all mining at the Bear No. 3
Mine. Bear will continue to monitor all required hydrologic monitoring points
as required. Bear Coal Company remains concerned about mine inflow
from the neighboring Mountain Coal Company. Bear Coal Company again
requests the Division's help to decide if an abandoned area in the adjacent
West Elk Mine might be the source and/or the cause of this mine's inflow.
