April 15, 2003
Conejos, Colo.
Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
Denver, Colo.
RECEIVED
APR 112003
Division ~f Minerals and
Gentlemen:
No new mining took place in our gravel pit in 2002. I did sell and haul
Around 5,000 ton of reject gravel, 300 ton of pit run gravel taken from
NE part of pit. I also screened about 250 tons of 4 inch plus rock.
I am working on removing backfill reject material on east side of pit so
I can slope and reclaim it.
When stock piles of sand, gravel and rock are removed from bottom
of pit I will replace top soil and seed.
This summer I will start screening big rock out of top soil piles to get
Top soil ready for reclamation.
To date no one has contacted us needing gravel for a big project, so
there are no plans for big scale mining in our pit.
I will continue to sell reject material and screen rock as needed.
Thank Yo a
- Q
Demetrio A Valdez
