BACKGROUND Thla latter gives an opinion as to the validity of three analysee for total eyanlde an aqueous samples collected during the period December, 1891 to April, 7 992 from a I ty iry tar, deslon_ ete~ ', located at Battle Mounuln Gold Company's San Luis Gold ProJiet, near ~ Gunniston, Colorado. In the latter, the tlata themselves are first described and then a number of technical Issues related to their validity ^ra d'ucucsed on an individual basin. 2. SAMPLING AND ANALYTICAL DATA Three samples were eolleetetl from lyslmater L3 through the period December 19, 1991 to April 3, 1992, as follows: • December 18, 1991: 120 mis of sample, unfiltered and placed In a ane litre bottle containing between nix and eight pallets of sodium hydroxide preservative; • February 21, 1882: 20 mis of sample, unfiltered and Dlaced In a one litre borile containing between six and eight pallets of sodium hydroxide praiarvative; and • April 3, 1892: 6 mss of sample, unfiltered and placed In a one Ilue bottle contalnlnp six to eight Dellets of sodium hydroxide preservative. Samples were analysed for toter eyanlde ualnp sn autoanalyser procedure with a eolourimetric finish, (EPA Method 9012 / APHA-AWVJA Standard Methods, Method 336.31. Ths total eyanlde analyser, by Aeeu-Labs Research, Ina, of Golden, Colorado, aro reported in the data sheets appentled to this ktter.
