Since final reclamation of disturbed areas was completed in 1991, maintenance of these areas was the only activity conducted during 1993. Mainlenance activities were conducted on the contour furrows and diversion ditches as required during the summer and fall of the year following the significant storm events which were experienced a[ the site. Significant storm evenu included the following: August 18 2.5 inches August 20 2.0 inches August 21 2.5 inches August 2829 3.5 inches September 13 2.3 inches September 15 1.0 inches October 2 0.95 inches All site ditches and ponds are designed to contain the 10-year 24-hour storm event of 2.1 inches. Of these seven storm events, Cour exceeded the ]0-year 24-hour event and one storm exceeded the 100-year 24-hour storm of 3.25 inches. Areas of reclamation included several washouts of contour furrows on the east side of the East Pit, two washouts of contour furrows on the west side of the East Pit, two washouts in the Barren Ridge, and two washouts and repair of a small tension crack on the Revision 1 Area (sec attached Map 7 of the Permit Document for location ofreclamation areas conducted during 1993). No other visible subsidence or damage Crom storm events were observed.
