October 2000 -20- 003-2191
There aze no on-site or local geologic or geomorphologic features that would cause the
depository site to be unstable. The entire section of strata both above and for some 200
to 300 feet below the fill can be seen in the local outcrops.
There aze no on-site or local man-made features or events that would cause the
depository site to be unstable. There aze no underground excavations or man-made
features or events on the surface that would cause the site to be unstable.
The local depository site does not have any significant geologic hazazds. Since the
depository is basically situated on the side or neaz the top of a mesa, there aze no
rockfall hazards. The depository is not on or neaz any steep slopes so slope stability and
landslides aze not a concern.
3.1.6 Precipitation Runoff Area, Prevailing Winds
Due to the climate at the site and design of the cover, erosion potential is not believed to
be significant at the site. However, erosion calculations indicate that stormwater control
berms should be placed at approximately mid-height of the final cover. Additional
information regazding the surface water, erosion calculations and maximum runoff is
included in Appendix 3.
The Sedalia Project is located in a valley of an ephemeral drainage on the higher
elevations of the landscape. The general azea is the west-facing slope of the local hills.
The environmental inventory conducted on the azea corms that the prevailing wind
direction is from the west and southwest. The complete analysis of the winds is
presented in Appendix 2 and 10.

V00l1191RI915ed~liWmnit1000 EOC Sedalia Recycling Center and Depository
