Mr. Tim O'Connor - 2 - March 12, 1987
In any case, Weil SK-3H is suspect as to seam isolation and Well SK3.75
suspect as to concrete contamination. These wells were placed to give
baseline information and to depict impacts to the bedrock due to mining.
Although no significant impacts to the bedrock were projected in the Findings
document, wells are needed to substantiate that the findings are correct. For
this reason, New Castle Energy Corporation (NCEC) needs to meet with the
Division to discuss these prroblems and to find solutions. Due to the limited
mining proposed in this permit term, this meeting can be held after the
Division's notification of the pending permit expiration. This notification
date will be in January of 1988, 270 days prior to permit expiration.
The Division does request that NCEC modify the parameters analyzed to include
bicarbonate and exclude alkalinity. Bicarbonate is more useful in depiction
of natural water.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sin rel~,
~~ ,y~~
Candace M.
