From our conversation we
determined that Southdown, Inc., Lyons Cement Plant is exempt from
the Colorado Aboveground Storage Tank regulations because we are a
mining facility. In June of 1995 the Oil Inspection Office
returned our AST registration check for the same reason. Further,
your }yelp in obtaining the Colorado Storage Tank Guidance Document
was most appreciated.
Tlie Document defines certain reporting obligations. It was
determined that since we are exempt from the Colorado AST
regulations that we have no reporting obligation as prescribed in
the guidance document. This document will be very helpful in
preparing a remediation plan.
If there are any questions please call me at (303) 823-2113.
Sincerely,
Steve Mossberg
Compliance Manager
F O Box 529 Lyons, Colorado 80540
(303) 823-2100 • Fax: (303) 823-2199
