Dudash; <br />Find enclosed three (3) completed Discharge Monitoring Reports (OMB's) forms addressing the <br />uarter of 1997 for the Bowie No. l Mme. <br />will note that Outfall 002A exceeded the daily ma~dmum dischazge limitations for Total <br />en olids (TSS) during this quarter. Bowie Resources is requesting your approval to waive TSS <br />;lions under Section A, Part 3 (a) of the approved Discharge Permit. Beginning on June 8, the <br />ie No. 1 Mine began to receive a considerable amount of precipitation. By the following day, the <br />ie No.l Mine received approximately 1.75 inches of rain, and as a result Outfalls 002A and 006A <br />urged. (The 1.75 inches of rain was measured using a collection type rain gauge at the mine site). I <br />also enclosed a copy of the local newspaper showing precipitation during June, however, as you will <br />:he local paper does not show precipitation received on June 9.
