<br />EAST RI®EN <br />Annual fbnitoring Feport <br />August 13, 1984 to August 12, 1985 <br />This is the sixth annual ironitoring re~rt for the East Rigden Pit operated <br />by Flatiron Materials Company, P.O. Box 229, Boulder, ~ 80306. It movers <br />the period of August 13,•1984 to August 12, 1985. <br />The follaaing questions and answers are submitted to meet requirements for <br />annual reports to the Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />1. What are the locations and numbers of acres affected during the past <br />year? <br />Approximately 20 acres in the northeastern portion of the pit were <br />excavated this past year. About 6 acres in the northern pit area <br />were stripped in preparation for mining. (See map.) <br />2. What are the locations and numbers of acres reclaimed this year? <br />About 1 acre along the northern boundary was backfilled, shaped and <br />topsoiled this past reporting year. (See map.) <br />3. What are the locations and numbers of acres in various stages of <br />reclamation? <br />See ,~2 above. <br />4. What are the species of vegetation that have been planted? What are <br />the locations and approximate dates of planting? <br />There was no planting during the past reporting year. <br />5. What are the types, quantities and locations of fertilizers used? <br />None. <br />6. What is the company's appraisal of reclamation efforts? <br />Mining and reclamation are progressing smoothly. <br />7. What are the locations and numbers of acres to be affected during the <br />next reporting year? <br />The 6 acres stripped are to be excavated next year, and about 3.5 acres <br />of a previously mined area in the middle part of the pit are to be <br />backfilled. (See map.) <br />
