1
Area B was graded, topsoiled, and seeded this spring, but portions may have to be
disturbed again to allow access to areas to be mined, especially Area E. There are a
number of small areas with erosion damage from snow melt runoff which will require
repair, with seeding or reseeding to be done this fall. The owner is continuing to keep
cattle off the site, to prevent overgrazing of all areas.
Both the 4SA and County plants were relocated; the new sites are shown on the map.
As product stockpiles are emptied and roadways adjusted, additional acres will be
graded and if moisture permits, topsoiled and seeded in Fall 2003.
In accordance with the new permit application, County operations moved to the north,
and 4SA cleared and grubbed Area E, which is planned for mining later this year. Both
operations are expected to continue without significhnt interruption in 2003-04.
If there are any questions, please call me at (970) 565-3388, or contact our
environmental engineer, Nathan Barton, at (605) 390-7255 or (970) 564-1380.
Map, form, and check attached.
CF:
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
Durango Office
701 Camino del Rio
Durango, CO 81301
VIA FAX 970-237-5104
Four States Aggregates LLC
