The purpose of this letter is to discuss the status of the annual hydrologic report.
Rule 4.05.13(4)(c) states,
A hydrologic report shall be submitted to the Division annually with the date of
submittal determined in consultation with the permittee. The annual hydrologic
report shall contain at a minimum:
(i) Water quantity data obtained from each monitoring site during the water year;
(ii) Water quality data obtained from each monitoring site during the water year;
and
(iii) If required by the Division, a written interpretation of the data and
identification of mining related impacts to the hydrologic balance.
As per your permit requirements, the Division has been receiving surface water data on
a quarterly basis and ground water data on asemi-annual basis. Although the data
required by 4.05.13(4)(c) have been included in your quarterly and semi-annual reports,
our files do not indicate that we have received an annual report since 1987. Pursuant to
4.05.13(4)(c), the Division requires that in addition to your permit conditions, an annual
hydrologic report be submitted for each year. The Division requests that each of these
annual reports reflect the requirements of 4.05.13(4)(c)(iii), which requires "a written
interpretation of the data and identification of mining-related impacts to the hydrologic
balance." Please submit an annual hydrologic report for each year since 1987 (seven
reports) to the Division by January 30, 1995.
