Lochhead
From: Barbara PBVlik Executive Director
Michael B. Long
Date: February 29, 1996 Division DireUOr
Re: Review of Red Canyon AHR Responses
(C-81-034)
I have reviewed Mr. Stover's responses to my review of the AHR for
the Red Canyon Mine and have the following comments:
1) Comment #1 did not require a response.
2) The response to Comment #2 is adequate.
3) The operator did not directly respond to comment #3, in
which the Division recommended resumption of alluvial
water quality monitoring a year or two before final bond
release is requested; however, the operator's commitment,
in the response to Comment #10, to maintaining at least
one alluvial well until shortly before final bond release
is requested, leaves the option of continued monitoring
open. Therefore, this comment has been adequately
addressed.
4) Comments #4-6 did not require responses.
5) The responses to Comments #7-10 are adequate.
If you or the operator have any questions, please call.
cc: Larry Routten
