1
1
INTRODUCTION --------
Between June 25 and June 28 of 1991, the Blue Ribbon Mine
site (Permit Application C - 81 - 047) was visited and sampled
in compliance with a committment on page 113 of the approved
t permit application ("The Operator shall determine the adequacy
of revegetation during 1991, the midpoint of bond liability
' period"). The reclaimed mine surface is located within
Section 2, T 13 S, R 91 W, 6th P.M. Sampling was carried out
' b
Matthew S
Ha
es
y
y
.
.
1
As the enclosed map shows (adapted Exhibit Q), the
reclaimed site consists of two reclaimed community types. The
slope immediately below the former portal locations in the
northeast portion of the permit area is delineated as
grassland. A small section in the southwest portion of the
' permit area which was formerly a coal stockpile area also is
designated as grassland. Areas of lowest elevation
' immediately east and west of Hubbard Creek have been
delineated as a riparian reclaimed community.
1
Data was collected to determine if, at the midpoint of
'
the ten year reclamation bond period, reclaimed communities
1 were progressing in directions that would satisfy reclamation
success requirements. In the case of Blue Ribbon mine,
' reclamation standards have been established as the criteria
that will be used to determine success. These are listed on
pages 113, 1131, and 113iii of the permit application.
' 1
