Box 1430
Palisade, Co 81526
Permit No. C - 81 - 041
(b) Area Disturbed - No new disturbance was created by Powderhorn Coal
Company during the year. An intense thunderstorm during August caused
Coal Creek to overflow and silt in the channel.
(c) Area back filled and graded -The damage to the Coal Creek channel was
repaired. Rock gabions were added to help armor the channel. An onsite
inspection of the gabions after further precipitation and runoff indicate that
the first gabion will need to be modified to create a slight "V" to prevent
channel silting.
Damage to the Roadside refuse disposal area caused by a broken water
line was also graded after the pipe was repaired.
(d) Area topsoiled • None.
(e) Area Seeded -The disturbance associated with the stream channel
reconstruction and the area around Pond 12 were seeded with the
permanent seed mix in December of 1998. A total of 3.11 acres were
mulched, fertilized and seeded with the Greasewood Shrubland permanent
mix.
The refuse disposal area repair was broadcast seeded in late December.
98 Rec.
