Camp and Bond Creek sites (Sites 10 and 12), the two Fish Creek sites •
(Sites 11 and 13) are not monitored.
At the Seneca II Mine, there are ten spoil springs are monitored for
field parameters and full-suite lab samples in the spring and fall
seasons. In addition, Spoils Spring 1 was sampled triannually for a
full-suite lab samples concurrently with NPDES 004.
Surface water quality data are presented in Appendix D. Data for each
site begins with a flow hydrograph of all historic data (plus an annual
hydrograph for NPDES sites), followed by a listing of individual water
quality and quantity data for the current water year, remarks, a TDS
regression plot using the LOWESS method (see Ground Water Quality
section), and then a listing of historic percent milliequivalent values
for major ions and TDS values. Crest stage gage rating curves are
presented in Appendix E. Lab samples are handled identically to
procedures discussed previously in the Ground Water Quality section.
For the sake of brevity, the prefix that precedes all surface water site •
names will often be dropped throughout the following text. As an
example, Site SSLGS will be referred to as Site 5.
Fish Creek Drainage. Six monitoring sites exist within the Fish Creek
drainage: NPDES 004 and Site 10 are located on Cow Camp Creek. NPDES
008 and Site 12 are located on Bond Creek. Sites 11 and 13 exist on
Fish Creek.
- NPDES Discharge Point 004 (NPDES4). Hydrographs are presented in
Appendix D. The hydrographs for NPDES sites consist of two parts; the
first being data for this year only, while the second shows all
historical data.
The water year average flow values since this pond began to flow are:
2005 = 0.084 cfs (monthly measurements)
2004 = 0.128 cfs •
2003 = 0.143 cfs "
12
