McClane Canyon Mine AHR Information
4/30/97 Update
Permit ~ C-80-004
1. AHR Due Date: A due date is not specified in either the
findings document or the PAP, however the PAP states that the
"report shall be submitted immediately after data collecting and
analysis." The report has typically been submitted in January, and
covers the preceding water year (Oct. 1 - September 30).
2. Specific Reporting Requirements: Page 4-14 of the
application outlines the ground water monitoring program, including
wells, mine water discharge, non-seep inflows, and water imported.
The text states that "results of additional monitoring will be
submitted to the Division in an annual hydrological report. The
annual report will detail inflows, discharges and consumption of
water within the mine and shall be structured around the normal
water year."
In actuality, the reports submitted include all surface and ground
water collected during the year as well as an evaluation of the
monitoring results with respect to the PHC projections. The
reports submitted are more comprehensive than specified in the PAP.
Ground Water
a. Quarterly monitoring of GW-1 and GW-3 for water level and
field parameters.
b. ~CPDES mine discharge sampling.
c. Non seep mine inflows.
d.
