It is the same as was submitted with the 1983 report because there were no additions or expansions in the excavations since the time of that report. The following is to bring the division current on mining and processing activities since the iast reporting period. Gravel extracted from the excavation site was stockpiled near the crusher and wilt be sufficient feed for our projected needs in the coming year. 2. The planting of cottonwood trees, which included 23 transplanted trees ranging from 12 to 18 feet in height and 100 seedlings, was completed on April 28, 1983 as illustrated on the accompanying map. Also, the mulching and watering within the 2 acres of reclamation land within the 100 foot set-back was continued through the summer of 1983. 3. Of the 23 replanted larger cottonwood trees on the river bank, only 1 survived. Out of 100 seedlings 19 never took root and an additional 17 were either washed out or covered by silt from the flooding resulting in the spring run-off that flooded the entire area during last years thaw. 4. With our present commitments we anticipate that in the present mine-run stockpile there is sufficient material to satisfy our needs for most of the summer, and as a result we don't expect to resume any mining until late in the summer. If this is realized we would extend the present limits of the excavation to include an acre or so of the southern portion of Parcel C.
