RECLAMATION REPORT
Coors Energy Company (CEC) continues to contract the services of both Cooper
Aerial Survey Company of Tucson, Arizona and BE&K/Terranext, LLC (Terranext)
in Lakewood, Colorado to provide aerial survey and optical scanning/digitizing
services for the 1997 reclamation evaluation and tracking work. In addition to the
increased accuracy which CEC believes has been brought to the overall process
through the use of these two fines, and the latest mapping and drafting techniques,
CEC has also obtained assistance froth Terranext in several areas to enhance its own
understanding of the "reclamation process".
No additional acreage was "disturbed" during 1997. Portions of the A-Pit haul road
located south of the Dugout Pond, an area south and another area southeast of the
present south end of B-Pit and a small area west of A-Pit all were graded and covered
with two (2) feet of topsand in 1997. These same areas were fertilized and seeded in
the Spring of 1997 with an approved cover crop of sorghum. In the Fall of 1997 the
areas were drill seeded with the seed mixture as specified in Section 2.05.4 (page
115) of the Permit. The total area represented by these parcels is approximately 15.0
acres.
• Work also progressed on the final reclamation (dirt work) for the remaining portion
of A-Pit where ash disposal will be finished sometime during the first quarter of
1998. The area consists of approximately 9 acres, and together with additional
portions of the old A-Pit haul road is anticipated to be ready for fertilizer and cover
crop (sorghum) seeding in the Spring of 1999.
The reclamation summary for the end of 1997 is noted as follows:
ACREAGE SiJMMARY
Total area remaining to be reclaimed 218.6 acres
Total area reclaimed and re-vegetated 194.4 acres
Grand Total 413 acres

The total acreage summary and relative status of the acreages are graphically
illustrated on the following page. (Please note that acreages identified with certain
line items tnay depart somewhat from those reported for years prior to 1996 due to
apparent etTOrs in mine surveying and mapping. These errors were identified and
corrected between work done for the 1995 AHR Report and the 1996 AHR Report,
AHR-1997 -121- Stipulation # 17
/t ~~ z .y Y C
