The report pertains to the
revegetafion success of the test plots at the refuse area 1 (RP-1). The study was conducted by Greysione of
Englewood, Colorado.
Pages 9-12 of the report summarize the results of the study. Greystone has concluded the following:
• There was a high percentage of fortis on the test plots indicating that the vegetative stand had not
matured. Many small grasses observed under the annual fortis should become dominant in 1993
growing season. A lack of woody plants was also observed.
• No significant differences were noted in vegetation cover of the various soil depths on the south
plots.
• No significant differences were noted in vegetation cover of the plots 2, 3 and 4 of the north plots.
Plot 1 cover was significantly lower, possibly, due to steeper slopes on the eastern edge of the plot.
• The difference in vegetation cover between the south and north plots appears to be due to the
south versus north exposure.
WFU will conduct the second study in the summer of 1993.
Sincerely,
Murari P.
