TXI BOULDER ~® R
ECEIVED
To: State of Colorado NOV 2 6 2003
Division of Mineral and Geology
1313 Sherman Street Oirision of Minerals and Geology
Denver Colorado
From: Gary Feiner
Plant Manager
TXI Boulder
RE: Permit No. M1988-108
Western Aggregates, Mining Report Data
11/15/2003
Western Aggregates TXI Boulder Permit Number 1988-108 is actively
mining and reclaiming at 11728 Hwy. 93 near Boulder Colorado. The year
ending 2003 all scheduled pit benching was completed and the floor
elevation on the north side of the quarry was reached. Quarry depth in the
permit-desired depth reached.
Reclamation is still progressing, since the spring of 2002 Western
Aggregates finished grading the north side to of the quarry so that it can be
seeded in the spring of 2004. The plan is to continuing to mine in a southerly direction.
Reclamation will continue from the north boundary of the permit, heading
toward the south boundary of the permit.
Western Aggegates hasn't opened any more quarry in the last few years
and currently there are no plans to open any more area for a few more years.
Western Aggregates has changed a few internal road patterns thus allowing
mining in a tighter area reducing the need to disturb more area in FY2004.
Western Aggregates also continues the Knapp Weed program and use the
same herbicide applicator as our neighbors. (Rocky Flats). Combining
