For the remainder of the quarter mining was concentrated <br />in the main entries establishing a five entry system to the south. Water <br />conditions were as not as bad as encountered in the 4th East Section. <br />Sumps were established to to control the discharge to the surface. With <br />continued development of the entries, coal partings thickened resulting <br />a decision to discontinue development of the entries. Crews are now <br />2nd. mining this area and planning a new approach to the remainder of <br />the reserves. <br />Discharge from the mine is being monitored in accordance with the re- <br />quirements of Stipulation Nos. 1 an 2 and the NPDES permit.
