Pueblo West Pit
2006 Annual Report
Transit Mix of Pueblo
M-1977-573
Overview of Permit Year: Over the 2005-2006 permit year Transit Mix of Pueblo
has worked on the north side of the river reclaiming the area to create a reservoir area.
The State Engineer's test on the reservoir began on March 6, 2006, and will continue
fox 90 days. This test is to ensure the reservoir meets the design criteria for a
reservoir. Thus far the tests results have looked quite favorable.
Activity: Mining has ceased at this site and the only activity that is occurring
is
i Control: Txansiw. Mix will perform one last weed control effort on the 104
previously released to State Parks in accordance with its agreement with State
. The control measures used will be mowing, and control of white top and other
~s. Transit mix will now concentrate weed control efforts on the current
Moir area.
Reclamation: Reclam;ition continued in 2005 and will continue in 2006. The
reservoir area has been completed and after the 90 day design test reclamation will
continue. The existing soil pile in the reservoir bottom will be spread out and the area
will be seeded.
cted Activity: Throughout the upcoming year the expected activity will be
letion of reclamation activities in the area north of the river as seen on the map.
it Mix is currently testing the design of the reservoir through the State Engineers
;. Based on current test results there should be no issue in regards to design.
the testing period Transit Mix will finish reclaiming this area.
