SURFACE WATER MONITORING <br />There are six (6) surface monitoring points within Bear Coal's <br />permitted area. Pond 004, Upper French Drain (FD-U), Lower French <br />Drain (FD-L), Spring G-26A, G-26B, and CR-12. <br />_1 <br />Pond 004 <br />Pond 004 located at Bear #3 Mine had no discharge in the <br />calendar year of 1994. <br />French Drain Uooer - FD-U <br />Beginning in March of 1994, the upper French Drain began <br />conveying a flow of approximately 1 gpm and continued through the <br />first of May. <br />French Drain Lower - FD-L <br />This drain was installed in October of 1993 and has had no <br />flow sense. <br />Sorinos G-26a, G-26b & CR-12 <br />As required in Permit Revision (PR-O1), these 3 springs are to <br />monitored for monthly flow and field parameters May through <br />November of each year.
