1998 Reseeded area had 6 species contributing greater than 3% relative cover. Unfortuantely, nearly half of the relative <br />cover, 49% was composed of Cheatgrass. One warm season grass contributed greater than 3% relative cover. Control of <br />the cheatgrass is needed to encourage increases in the proportion of other desirable warm-season and cool season perennial <br />grasses. <br />The 2001 Annual Reclamation Report indicates that the operator thinks that the diversity standard should be revised to <br />reflect the establishment of 4 perennial species composed of ; 3 warm season grasses and one forb each comprising greater <br />than 3% but less than 40% relative cover. This suggestion is based upon data collected in the reference area over a period of <br />years. No revision of this nature has been submitted by the operator to change the permit requirements.. <br />
