LOng
Drvismn Director
RE: Roadside Mine, 1996 Annual Hydrology Report
Permit C-81-041
Enclosed for your review of conformance with PHC projections is the 1996, yes 1996, Roadside
Mine Annual Hydrology Report. Report submittal was delayed for various reasons for
approximately 10 months.
I have conducted a preliminary review of the report, and it appears that required data was
collected and analyzed, with only a few exceptions. Flow data for gaging stations SWGS-02d~"an"d
03 during July and August, 1996 was missing. For SWGS-02, the problem was appazently~et~
a problem with the recorder, at least for a portion of the period of missing data. For SWGS-03, it
would appear that the missing data was due to flow level below the minimum recording level.
Operator references this matter briefly on page 2 of the report narrative. The only other
deficiency I noted was that SAR was not reported in the annual full suite analyses for Irrinewater
discharge samples for NPDS-001, 002, and 004, although analytical parameters needed to
calculate SAR were reported.
I will look forward to your evaluation. Let me know if you have any questions.
cc: Larry Routten
