Re Annual Report - Road Runners Rest II Pit
Suburban Sand and Gravel MLR file NO 79-195
FEDERAL TAX ID. # 84-0446076
The anniversary date for this pit is January 28, 2001 . The
pit is still being operated by Aggregate, Inc. under a lease from
Suburban Sand and Gravel Co. This is not a phased operation but
the area needing reclamation at any one time is limited to 50 . 00
acres ± . The permitted area is 168 . 41 acres ± , the pit HAS NOT
been granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS operated more than
180 days this year. A check for $688 .00 is attached to cover the
annual fee. Please refer to the map attached for the areas
discussed in this report.
( 1 ) At the current time we have 126 .32 acres ± disturbed in the
pit. This entire disturbed area has been stripped of topsoil
and the topsoil was stockpiled around the site for use in
reclamation. Of the total area disturbed at this time 4 . 35
acres ± is stripped and ready for mining; 11 . 38 acres ± is
plant site area (cross-hatched) ; 100 . 35 acres ± , is lake area
(blue) and 7 . 99 acres is resoiled ready for seeding (orange) .
Mining continued on areas previously disturbed removing an
additional 12 . 25 acres ± ( \\\ ) . We have approximately 32 , 100
YDI stockpiled, covering 9 . 35 acres ± (purple) around the
lake.
(2 ) No reclamation was required during this year . The south
shore is resoiled ready for seeding and 11 .55 ac ± on the
west and north sides were reclaimed in past years as part of
two Urban Drainage projects (green) . we have a total of 7 . 99
acres ± of bank sloping complete and have began to recon-
struct slopes on the northeast and southern part of the site
(herring bone hatched) . The slopes along the north side of
will be created sometime this year. The area covered by
water surface does not need reclamation (blue) .
( 3 ) Mining will continue in the areas currently stripped and
within the lake area where additional gravel remains . Aggre-
gate, Inc. expects to mine deeper on the southern lake area
