SECOND HALF 2000 SUBSIDENCE SURVEY REPORT
I. Survey Data:
During the second half of 2000, subsidence survey data was collected periodically from
established monuments on the Hayden-Gore Pass, Wolcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC) and
Western Area Power Administration power lines in areas underlain by gate roads or panel
centers during periods of mining in the 2 and 3-Right longwall panels (Panel No.2 and
Panel No. 3). As is reflected in the data and on the attached subsidence map, the 2 and 3-
Righ[ longwall panels did not directly undermine the Union Pacific Railroad, Routt
County Road No. 33 and Foidel Creek during the second half of 2000.
The data and frequency for the survey monuments along the Wolcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC),
Western Area Power Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines are presented in
the attached Table Nos. 1 through 6.
The final subsidence profile for Middle Creek over Panel 3 Right and the initial
subsidence profile for Middle Creek over Panel 2 Right were surveyed in July 2000. The
drawing profile for these areas was submitted with the firs[ half 2000-subsidence report.
A survey of the creek to determine the final subsidence effects due to the mining of the 2-
Right longwall panel will be performed in late spring as the snow melt and weather
permits. The final subsidence profile for Middle Creek over Panel 2 Right will then be
submitted with the first half 2001 subsidence report.
II. Structures:
Structures affected during the second half of 2000 reporting period include the Wolcott
Tap-Wolcott (PSC), Western Area Power Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power
lines. The Union Pacific Railroad, Routt County Road No. 33 and Foidel Creek were not
undermined during the second half of 2000.
Visual inspections of the Wolcott Tap-Wolcott (PSC), Westem Area Power
Administration and Hayden-Gore Pass power lines were conducted concurrent with the
surveys of the power poles from December 8, 2000 through January 31, 2001. On
December 27, 2000, a bowed cross metnber on structure H65 was noted. No repair work
was required to H65 or any of the other structures as a result of TCC's mining activity.
III. Man:
The monitoring locations for the second half of 2000 are shown on the Second half of
2000, Subsidence Map. The map also indicates the location of the longwall face on a
monthly basis.
2000_2ndHalfSubReport.doc Page loft 02/16/01
