' Mine inflows during 1982 were small. The estimate of total mine
' inflows during Water Year 1983 was 6.07 acre-ft. The quality of
mine water is considered good and offers no problem for treatment
' and discharge. Mine water discharge during Water Year 1983 of
' 2.34 acre-ft. was treated in sedimentation MB1 prior to dis-
charge. Discharge from the sedimentation ponds had no measurable
impact on water quality in the North Fork.
' Water withdrawal from the North Fork during Water Year 1983 was
about 10 acre-ft. less than 0.002% of the annual river flow.
' Discharge of sanitary wastes was extremely small relative to the
' flow in the North Fork. Consequently, these discharges had no
measurable effect on water quality of the North Fork.
' Operation of the waste rock pile has had no impact on groundwater
' as the site is underlain by approximately 50 ft, of unsaturated
colluvial soils consisting primarily of clay. Mining activities
have had no effect on springs during the 1983 Water Year. The
springs within 100 ft. above or below the F-Seam in the permit
area show no consistent change in flow characteristics since
' mining activities have commenced.

-4-
