Seneca Coal Company {SCC) has provided extensive data from the
Annual Revegetation Monitoring Reports for the Seneca II Mine that we have entered into the database.
While reviewing and entering the data, we noticed that some of the reports were incomplete, or did not
provide enough information for us to enter the results into our database. We are attempting to track
revegetation results for each block {or trail) of seeded acreage to evaluate revegetation trends at the
Seneca II Mine.
The Division is entering data as it becomes available. We recognize that it may take some time to gather
some of the maps and detailed transed locations we are requesting. Please provide this information az
your time allows you to gather it. We also request that all future revegetation monitoring reportr provide
detailed maps with the transesY locations clearly marked.
Following is a list of information we are requesting for the Seneca 11 Mine.
1. Does SCC have a map that shows a reclamation progression by year and area for the Seneca II
Mine1 It would be very helpful to the Division to have a copy of this map, if it is available.
2. In the 1995 report, the locations for the Wadge Pasture 2-Stage monitoring are not shown on a
map, so it is not apparent which 20 blocks the transacts were in. Please provide a map showing
the adua) transed locations.
3. Again in the 1996 report, the locations for the Wadge Pasture 2-Stage monitoring are not shown
on a map. Please provide a map showing the actual transact locations.
4. There does not appear to be a map showing transact locations for any of the monitoring in the
1998 report. Please provide a map showing transact locations for all of the areas monitored.
5. The 1999 report appears to be missing a map showing transact locations for 1992, 1997, and
Wadge Pasture sampling. The map in the report shows only which areaz were seeded in 1995 and
1997, without any transact locations for revegetation monitoring.
tNfice of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
