We
are in the process of building a dredge, which if proves successful, will
enable us to pt1Tp gravel out of the pit and also enable us to extract it
at a deeper level. If this dredging operation is a success, then we would not
be enlarging aUr pit area next year.
There is also the possibility that if the dredging operation does not
prove very successful we will also be using a.dragline to dig the gravel out.
If so, we will then be stripping another section of land which would not
amount to more than one half acre.
Reclamation
In 1981 we sloped approximately 100 to 200 feet of banks on the south-
west side of our existing pit and filled in a low marshy area with topsoil
that was rgnoved fran our excavation area.
