ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT
MESA GRAVEL PIT
PEABODY COAL COMPANY
PERMIT N0. 82-36
Introduction
.•
1~;L ~ ~~ IJ:1J
The gravel from this operation is used at Peabody Coal Company's Seneca
II Coal Mine for road maintenance and road construction. The latter
generally demands a greater need. Due to very little road construction
at Seneca II this past year, the demand far gravel has been extremely
low (approximately 15,800 tons for calendar year 1986). The operation
is permitted for 49,000 tans/year. Therefore, due to low production the
disturbance has been minimal at this gravel pit over the last year.
Reclamation operations have advanced as far as possible taking into
consideration the working room needed for the active pit.
The report period for this Annual Reclamation Report is from June 1,
1985 to June 1, 1986.
1.
