Permittee Name: ~ewood Brick and Tile Co. • Page 2
Permit No: M-79-045
Operation Name: Charch Pit
Anniversary Date: 02 / 28 / 94
1 (cont.)
Gravel - Jefferson County Road and Bridge Dept. is mining the
gravel under a lease with the mineral right owners. Gravel
mining continued in Stage I & II ahead of the clay operation,
basically over the clay beds. This is done in accordance with
the approved plan and serves to strip the clay vein of
material that we consider overburden. The current gravel
operation has disturbed 8.32 acres ± in Stages I & II.
(2) No reclamation was required this year. None will be required
until mining for both materials is completed in any given
stage.
(3) Clay - Mining will continue is Stage I, no new area will be
disturbed this year because we are mining in the area stripped
by the County. We will mine deeper into the clay veins
exposed in the past and advance the face to the north as more
of the clay vein is exposed by the gravel operation. This may
mean we move into the southern end of Stage II. Processing
will continue in the Plant Site Area in Stage 0, 3.77 ac. ±.
Gravel - Mining/stripping will continue in Stage II on the
north end of the clay operation. The sand and gravel operator
has disturb most of the area in Stage II above the clay vein
and will concentrate on mining to the top of the clay vein.
Should the sand and gravel be depleted in this area this year
they may move to Stage A as approved.
(4) No reclamation is called for during the next year. However,
if the gravel operator reached the north permit line a
section of sloping will be completed from the existing surface
to the top of the clay vein. This slope will be part of the
north slope into the floor of the pit.
(5) CURRENT CONTACT
James R. Murray (303) 238-5313
1325 Jay St. FEDERAL TAX ID. #
Denver, Co 80215
